A personal welcome

Meet your host before you decide.

Niraj Kumar Borah greets every guest in person, with folded hands, from the very first minute. Here is a short hello, and a feel for the care that runs through the whole week.

The same standards as our residential programs, now on the road.

For five years, guests have trusted us with a serious, structured health program at our residential base. This week carries that same care into the mountains. Niraj Kumar Borah and a small team host you across two states, so every stay, meal, and walk is arranged and you can simply be present.

We built Fitness Bootcamp as a premium residential health system, not a gym or a retreat. A fitness vacation is that same thinking, on the move. This is our on-demand Meghalaya and Assam tour package, run once as a single batch for sixteen guests, with every entry fee, safari, trek, and transfer handled for you. You bring yourself and a pair of shoes with grip.

What this isA calm, well-organised week of walks, waterfalls, wildlife, and easy daily movement, in good company and handpicked homestays, run to the standard you would expect from our residential programs.

What this is notA fat-loss camp, a training programme, or a race. You will not come home with a lab report. You will come home rested, moved, and well travelled.

Arrival, and up into the hills

Night in Shillong · No workout, rest day
Sunset over Umiam Lake near Shillong

We meet you at Guwahati airport at 2 PM and drive up to Shillong, about three and a half hours away. We stop along the way to stretch and take in Umiam Lake. You settle into the homestay, meet the group around a bonfire, and share a warm vegetarian dinner. Nothing strenuous today. Rest and arrive.

Night in Shillong · Short mobility, then the world-famous trek
The Double Decker living root bridge in the rainforest

After a short mobility session and breakfast, we take on the day's real walk. This is one of the world's most famous treks, about 3,500 steps down to the Double Decker living root bridge, a structure grown by hand over generations. We cool off at the natural swimming pool and El waterfall, then walk on to Rainbow Falls. This is the most demanding day, and we go entirely at your pace.

We open with fifteen minutes of mobility and an easy Zone 2 run, then set out on a longer travel day that is well worth it. One last short mobility session and breakfast. Check-out is at 10 AM. Return airport transfer is not included, and Ola and Uber are easy to find. The movement

Gentle by design, not by accident.

This is a vacation, so the movement stays light and always optional. Most mornings open with fifteen minutes of mobility and a thirty-minute Zone 2 run, easy, conversational-pace running that builds your aerobic base without leaving you tired. Day three is the world-famous root-bridge trek, and day one is for arriving. The structure is deliberate, the same measured thinking behind everything we do.

Sushma Nair · on the Meghalaya & Assam vacation
★★★★★

"I recently joined a group trip through Assam and Meghalaya, and it was hands down one of the most memorable travel experiences I have ever had. From the stunning waterfalls and caves of Meghalaya to the wildlife safari in Kaziranga, every day brought something new. Spotting rhinos and elephants in their natural habitat was a definite highlight. The trip was well organised, with a great mix of adventure and workouts, and a huge shout out to Fitness Bootcamp's Niraj for pulling off such a smooth and unforgettable experience. If you are looking to explore a beautiful, lesser-known part of India with a fun crew, this is it. Highly recommend, and already planning the next one."

Good to know

Questions, answered plainly.

When is the best time to visit Meghalaya and Assam?
Meghalaya and Assam are at their best from October to April, once the monsoon has passed. The waterfalls are still full, the hills stay green, the skies are clearer, and the days are comfortable for walking and safaris. Our batch runs from 8 to 14 October 2026, right at the start of this window.
What does your Meghalaya and Assam tour package cover?
It is a guided seven-day North East India tour package through both states. In Meghalaya you see Shillong, Cherrapunji, the living root bridges, Wei Sawdong and Rainbow Falls, Mawlynnong, and the clear Dawki river. In Assam you visit the Brahmaputra Heritage Centre and take a safari in Kaziranga National Park. Homestays, breakfast and dinner, all entry and safari fees, and daily movement are included. The difference from an ordinary tour package is the fitness and recovery built into every day.
Which airport should I fly into, and when should I arrive?
Please book a flight to Guwahati (GAU) arriving before 1:30 PM. Our transport to Shillong leaves the airport at 2 PM sharp on 8 October 2026.
What if I arrive after 2 PM?
Our transport departs Guwahati airport for Shillong at 2 PM sharp on 8 October 2026. If you arrive later, you can take an airport taxi to Shillong, which usually costs between Rs. 3,500 and Rs. 5,500 depending on the car.
How far is Shillong from the airport?
Shillong is about 134 km from Guwahati airport, roughly a three and a half hour drive. On the way you will see Umiam Lake and the hills of Meghalaya, and we stop for refreshments.
Is this a fitness bootcamp or a holiday?
It is a holiday with movement in it. Think of it as an experiential week: fifteen minutes of mobility and an easy Zone 2 run on most mornings, real walks along the trail, good vegetarian food, and time to rest. It is not a training programme, a fat-loss camp, or a race.
Do I have to do the workouts?
No. The mobility and Zone 2 running are gentle and completely optional. Zone 2 simply means an easy, conversational pace, so it suits every level. Day one is for arriving and day three is the trek, so those work a little differently. You are welcome to simply enjoy the mornings if you prefer.
How fit do I need to be for the treks?
A basic level of fitness is enough. The main walk is the Double Decker root bridge, about 3,500 steps down one way, plus a further 2 km jungle trail to Rainbow Falls and the natural pool. It is a moderate trek and we go at your pace. Please bring sports or hiking shoes with good grip.
Will there be a female coach or guide?
Yes. A female coach and guide travels with every batch.
What is the group size?
This batch is limited to a maximum of 16 guests, so the trip stays personal and easy to run well.
Can I bring my child?
Children aged 5 and above are welcome, though we recommend 12 and above for the walks. As a parent you are fully responsible for your child throughout the trip.
Where will we stay, and what about meals?
All stays are handpicked homestays on a twin-sharing basis. Breakfast and dinner are included daily and are 100% vegetarian. Lunch is not included, as we stop at a local restaurant on the way to each destination.
Will my phone work out there?
Jio and Vi have good coverage across the North East. Airtel works in some areas but not all.
How do we get to the airport on the last day?
Check-out is at 10 AM on 14 October. The return airport transfer is not included. Ola and Uber are easy to find and usually cost between Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 1,400. Most guests visit the Kamakhya temple on the way and like to take their time, so we suggest booking a late-evening flight home.
Do you offer discounts?
No. We keep one consistent price for everyone. The quality of the stays, food, and hosting is where the money goes, and that is not something we cut.
How do I reserve my spot?
You can hold your seat with a Rs. 20,000 pre-booking per person, with the balance due by 18 August 2026. Reserve through the button on this page, or message us on WhatsApp and we will guide you through it.
